9 Powerful Vishnu Mantra

Lord Vishnu is the preserver, the protector in the trinity of Lord Brahma, Lord Vishnu and Lord Mahesh (Lord Shiva). His number of incarnations and the stories are beautifully complied in various ancient Hindu texts, Puranas. He is the God who comes again and again on earth to protect dharma when earth gets burdened with the evil forces. Chanting the name of Lord fulfill all kinds of desires spiritual or material. Vishnu mantra is like a protection shield from any kind of negativity. He is known as Jagdish, jagat + ish the god of world. He bestows all kind of boons and removes difficulties, struggle from the life like a father. Chanting the name of Lord Vishnu and meditation on Lord makes one powerful in every field and protect the meditator.

Naraayan is Vishnu; vaikuntha is Lord’s abode. Vaikuntha means – No Desires. Whoever chants the mantra frees one from material and physical attachments and reaches the Vaikuntha – blissful state of desirelessness, Devotee sets free himself from all kind of bondages, fear, death by chanting and meditating on the name of Lord.

Chanting this mantra gives immense peace and relieves from the sufferings and hardships of life.

Vishnu Gayatri Mantra

ॐ श्री विष्णवे च विद्महे वासुदेवाय धीमहि।
तन्नो विष्णुः प्रचोदयात्॥

Om Shri Vishnave Cha Vidmahe Vasudevaya Dhimahi।
Tanno Vishnuh Prachodayat॥

ॐ नारायणाय विद्महे वासुदेवाय धीमहि।
तन्नो विष्णु प्रचोदयात्।।

Om Naaraayanaaya Vidmahe Vasudevaaya Dhimahi Tanno Vishnu Prachodyaat

This Vishnu mantra means, “Om, Let me meditate on Lord Vishnu/Naraayan, Oh, Lord Vasudeva, give me higher intellect, and let Lord Vishnu illuminate my mind”. The Vishnu Gayatri Mantra removes all kind of fears and illusions. On chanting the Vishu Gayatri Mantra one gets the enlighten intellect and clarity.

Shantakaram Bhujagashayanam Padmanabham Suresham
Vishvadharam Gaganasadrisham Meghavarnam Shubhangam।
Lakshmikantam Kamalanayanam Yogibhirdhyanagamyam
Vande Vishnum Bhavabhayaharam Sarvalokaikanatham॥

  • Lord Vishnu who is serene and peaceful, lying on the serpent, from whose navel lotus is blooming, lord of Devas (Gods).
  • One who holds the universe, boundless and infinite as sky, bluish in color like a cloud, whose has auspicious aura.
  • Beloved of Goddess Lakshmi, lotus eyed, who is attainable by Yogis through Meditation on Lord
  • I worship the Lord Vishnu who takes off all kinds of fear (fear of death and afterlife), who is the Lord of all the worlds.

If one regularly chants this Vishnu Mantra he becomes free from fears.

Mangalacharan – Mangalam Mantra Of Lord Vishnu

मङ्गलम् भगवान विष्णुः, मङ्गलम् गरुणध्वजः।
मङ्गलम् पुण्डरी काक्षः, मङ्गलाय तनो हरिः॥

Mangalam Bhagwan Vishnuh, Mangalam Garunadhwajah।
Mangalam Pundari Kakshah, Mangalaya Tano Harih॥

This is the mangalam mantra called mangalacharan, the auspicious one that brings goodness. When one is doing some auspicious work or when one needs the good luck and fortune like in pooja, marriage, new project etc. one should chant this mangalam Mantra of Lord Vishnu.

The auspicious Lord Vishnu, all the auspiciousness with the one who has garuda as his flag, auspiciousness to one who has lotus eyes and auspiciousness to the Hari.

From Mukundamala

कायेन वाचा मनसेन्द्रियैर्वा । बुद्ध्यात्मना वा प्रकृतिस्वभावात् ।
करोमि यद्यत्सकलं परस्मै । नारायणयेति समर्पयामि ॥

Kaayena Vaacaa Manasendriyairvaa
Buddhyaatmanaa Vaa Prakriteh Svabhaavaat |
Karomi Yad-Yat-Sakalam Parasmai
Naaraayannayeti Samarpayaami ||

From Bhagwad Gita

कायेन वाचा मनसेन्द्रियैर्वा बुद्ध्यात्मना वानुसृतस्वभावात् ।
करोति यद्यत्सकलं परस्मै नारायणयेति समर्पयेत्तत् ॥

Kaayena Vaacaa Manasendriyair Vaa
Buddhyaatmanaa Va Anusrta Svabhaavaat |
Karoti Yad-Yat-Sakalam Parasmai
Naaraayannayeti Samarpayet-Tat ||

Whatever I perform by body, speech, mind, senses, and intellect according to my prakriti (nature or natural tendencies). I surrender them at the feet of Sri Narayana.

This shloka is found in Bhagavad Gita and Mukundamala. The version in Mukundamala differs a little from one in Bhagavad, We have given both here. The use of this mantra liberates one from karmic deeds performed by an individual consciously or unconsciously and takes one to enlightenment. One gets free from all the karmas as he is surrendering all his karmas to Lord Vishnu. Surrendering free one from all kind of burdens, guilt, stress and anxiety

प्रसन्नवदनं ध्यायेत् सर्वविघ्नोपशान्तये ॥

Prasanna Vadanam Dhyaayet Sarva Vighnopashaantaye ||

I Meditate on Sri Vishnu, Who is Wearing White Clothes, Who is infinite and all pervasive, Whose Appearance is as bright as Moon and who is Having Four Hands. He is having a Compassionate and Gracious Face, Let us meditate on Him to overcome all obstacles.

सशङ्खचक्रं सकिरीटकुण्डलं सपीतवस्त्रं सरसीरुहेक्षणम् ।
सहारवक्षस्स्थलशोभिकौस्तुभं नमामि विष्णुं शिरसा चतुर्भुजम् ॥

Sa Shankha Chakram Sa Kiriitta Kunnddalam Sa Piita Vastram Sarasiiruhekshannam |
Sa Haara Vakshah Sthala Shobhi Kaustubham Namaami Vishnnum Shirasaa Chatur Bhujam ||

Salutations to Sri Vishnu Who is holding the conch and chakra, and who is adorned with crown and earrings; who is wearing Yellow Garments and have lotus-like eyes.

Whose Chest is adorned with a Garland with the Kaustubha Gem; I bow my Head before Lord Vishnu who has four arms.
